This Farm Market Was Named Best in Connecticut
I love farm fresh food.
I love farmer's markets and fairs with a bunch of locally-grown vendors. The fruit and vegetables just taste so much better coming from our local farms then they do from the store. For obvious reason, of course, but I will never turn down a trip to the farmer's market.
A lot of people have their favorite places to get their stalks of corn or their fresh tomatoes, but is there a place in Connecticut that specifically sticks out? Love Food recently posted a list of the best farm shops in every state, and Connecticut's came out of Glastonbury. Littel Acres Farm Market was named the best in Connecticut.
The article went on to talk about their assortment of baked goods including pies, cakes and strudels. They also are known for their orchard fruits and heirloom tomatoes. Their website says they offer flowers, baked goods, ice cream and produce and go "from our fields to your table June through October."
Littel Acres Farm Market can also be found throughout Connecticut Grown Farmer's Markets if you're not in the Glastonbury area. They partake in Farmer's Markets in Colchester, Hartford, Glastonbury, Windsor, Cromwell and Lebanon.
If you're interested in taking a trip on over, they are located at 535 Griswold Street in Glastonbury and their hours are 9 AM - 6 PM on weekdays (8 PM on Fridays) and 9 AM - 5 PM on weekends. All of their information can be found here.
If you'll excuse me, I'll be heading on over to grab some fresh tomatoes so I can have my fresh tomato, fresh mozzarella, basil and balsamic. Is my Italian coming out?
