Our state is great and all, but do you see it becoming a popular place for people to move? Buying houses here is a lot right now due to how much everything costs, but it seems like it may be somewhere people are starting to make their way to.

MoveBuddha put together a list of the 25 most desired cities of 2024's top cities to move and I was interested by the results. When I talk to people about Connecticut, the places that get highlighted are more so the towns than they are the cities. The one city that I feel stands out is New Haven due to the food scene. Other than that, I feel our cities aren't extremely well-known compared to other states.

As I was looking at the list of the most desired cities, I saw Hartford sitting at number 23 with an in-and-out ratio of 1.45. The website says that their data was used through their Moving Cost Calculator, so they can find out where people are planning to move this year. Searches were gathered from July 2023 to March 2024. The most popular place? The Villages, Florida. I feel Florida is always going to be one of the most popular states people move to.

Now to the part that really had me surprised. Within these most desired places to live, they separated the list into the cities with the lowest home prices in 2024. Hartford sat at number 2 on that list - calling it one of the cheapest places to live with an average home value of $163,072.

Connecticut being one of the cheapest places to live? I don't know about that. To my knowledge, you're not finding many houses here that cost $100,000. It's also said to have 145 moves in compared to 100 moves out.

I'm glad that people want to move here. I personally think it's a good state, but definitely an expensive one.

We used this as a jumping-off point to ask the I-95 Morning Show listeners what defunct stores and restaurants they miss the most. These are some of our favorite answers that came in from all over Connecticut and New York.
