We do not have a major league baseball team, an NFL team, and we lost the Whalers decades ago, but Connecticut is still home to rabid sports fans. Walk anywhere in our state and you'll see Yankee hats, UConn Husky jerseys, and you'll see plenty of Red Sox gear East of the Connecticut River. WalletHub.com has just released Best Sports Cities in 2024, a big-picture view of the best and worst places for sports fans across the US. 8 cities in Connecticut made their list for 2024.

In order to determine the best sports cities in the US, WalletHub.com crunched the numbers of respondents that were fans of the major sports, determined each cities results, and broke them down by city size to large, medium, and small cities across the US. The highest-ranking city in Connecticut for 2024 is New Haven, which landed at #64, the only city in Connecticut in the Top 100.

Fairfield surprisingly came in next at #114, and then there is a huge gap in the rankings all the way into the 200's. New Britain landed at #211, East Hartford at #249, Storrs at #250, Hartford ar #304, Bridgeport at #382, and Hamden at #395.

The Top 5 cities for 2024? Los Angeles, Boston, Pittsburgh, New York City, and Dallas. The very bottom of the list? Hamden was close at #395, but Rochester, Minnesota landed at #400.

Five Businesses That We Will Never, Ever See Here in Connecticut

You can get almost anything that your heart desires in the State of Connecticut, except for the products produced by these five national retailers and fast-food companies. The only way to enjoy anything from the following places is traveling out of Connecticut, or ordering it on Amazon, and a burger isn't the same after jetting across country.

Steakhouse Champion of Connecticut: The Greater Hartford Area

Some of the most enjoyable pleasures in my life are Prime ribeyes, filets, and NY strips. Steakhouses are my heaven, and if you want to check out some of the finest, most unique steakhouses in all of Connecticut, head up to the Greater Hartford area. The highest concentration of the best beef in the world is around our Capital City.
