There’s an Easy Way to Thwart the Porch Pirates of Connecticut
Have you noticed the hundreds of Amazon Lockers that have appeared outside your local gas station, Staples, or inside the mall? You should, it's a convenient way to thwart that porch pirate you've been trying to outrun.
I live in a condo complex in Torrington, it has a centralized mailbox for mail and package deliveries. As attentive as I think I am at watching the progress of the Amazon delivery driver on their way to my place, I've had some packages disappear. I typically trust the timing of the delivery, but I'm relieved when the delivery driver sends a photo of the package near my door. I've used the special instructions box to specifically tell Amazon where to place the package at times, but I've never paid attention to the Amazon Hub Lockers, until this weekend.
Unfortunately, I had another package disappear while I was on our Christmas vacation. What I've done in the past to try and thwart those pesky pirates is have our packages delivered to my workplace. If you haven't paid attention, like me, you may have missed out on the Amazon Hub Lockers. Here's a clip on how they work from TheRenderQ -
I would have never known about these unless I got gas that day, I breeze through the checkout process and just did what I normally did for delivery. Take your time during the checkout process on Amazon to explore where these Amazon Hub Lockers are around your neighborhood. In the South End of Torrington, the closest locker to me is named 'ilah', and it's 1/2 mile from our home. Take advantage of this service, it's something that I had no idea existed.
