The Naugatuck River is Down to a Trickle Through Torrington
I walk my dog along the Naugatuck River in Torrington every day, but you may not have seen how it's has been reduced to a trickle just South of downtown. Over the past few months, it's wild to see how much of the river bottom has been exposed by the drought.
The State of Connecticut is under a Stage 2 Drought Advisory: Do not even think about burning anything outside, shut down those sprinklers, and fix those leaky pipes. Back in April and May I took a few pics of an abandoned ATV that had settled on the riverbank by the John Toro Sports Complex, I called it the Lonely ATV. It's just waiting there for someone to go pick it up, look how much of it's been exposed over the past 4 months.
