The Highest Sale Price Ever in Litchfield County Real Estate Just Happened
We're used to multi-million dollar real estate sales in Connecticut, but it's bragging rights to be able to say that you just bought the most expensive piece of real estate in Litchfield County history.
Someone is able to brag today, according to Elyse Harney Real Estate, a record breaking closing took place on Thursday, January 25, 2024. Someone has finally purchased a 445 acre Cornwall estate that used to be owned by Ivan Lendl, for the highest price ever recorded in Litchfield County - $12 million dollars. We've seen real estate sales way over $12 million in Fairfield County and along the shoreline all the way out to Stonington, but it's the highest ever in Litchfield County according to Harney Real Estate.
The estate was listed on harneyrealestate.com for a cool $14,995,000. The property is incredible: It's located on 5 1/2 Mile Road in Cornwall, it's been dubbed Hill House for it's sweeping views, and it's 18,000 square feet on 445 acres. The home was designed by Allan Greenberg, who built the estate in 1992. Someone now has 10 bedrooms, 12 baths, three half-baths, and oh the rooms - wood-paneled library, a trophy room, an eat-in chef's kitchen, and a children's library. The estate also features an indoor pool complete with two locker rooms, a sauna, a full-sized gym, outdoor pool, tennis courts (Of course), and two six-car garages.
The property went on the market in March 2021 for $16,450,000, and dropped down to the latest asking price of just under $15 million in June 2021. Here's a tour of the property from LendlTennis via YouTube
