The Candlewood Lake Illuminated Boat Parade Launches This Friday

Last summer, 30 boat owners lit up Candlewood Lake like Christmas Eve.

Participants dressed up their boats according to their favorite themes and decorated them with multi-colored lights. This Friday, August 7, 2020 (rain date August 8) New Fairfield Park and Rec presents the Second Annual Illuminated Boat Parade off the shores of New Fairfield Town Park.

This year, as dusk surrounds the lake, participating boats will line up off the shores of Candlewood Isle and cruise past New Fairfield Town Park and Chatterton Marina as they head over to Spear Point.

Anyone with a boat on the lake can participate. To reserve your spot in the parade, you must contact New Fairfield Park and Rec at 203-312-5633. The parade will launch at dusk and spectators are welcome both on and off the water.

New Fairfield Town Park will be open (for residents only with possible capacity restrictions due to COVID-19) to view the event.
