Listen, I get it, having no fairs this season is such a bummer. I am someone who loves 'fair season' and my favorite one just so happens to be The Big E. I've been going there since I was a kid, and I always love it every single time i'm back. Unfortunately, the Big E was canceled this year due to coronavirus, but they've done what they can to still bring some fan favorite foods into our hands.

In the beginning of the summer, The Big E announced their 'Taste of the Big E' Drive-Thru' event that happened in June. They had specific times and vendors that would be there, and people were able to drive up in their cars and order what they wanted.

Well, good news to all of my fellow Big E lovers out there, the Eastern States Exposition just announced The Big E Food-To-Go Drive Thru that will happen this fall. That's right. All of our favorite foods, right in our hands, in the comfort of our vehicle. This event will run from Sept. 22-27, Sept. 29-Oct.4, Oct.6-11, and Oct. 13-18.

There will be a vehicle entry fee of $5 and you will need to reserve a specific time slot online in advance. Guests will be able to arrive any time during their time slot, but no more than 30 minutes before their reservation. Additionally, there will be a maximum of 50 cars per hour within the two-hour time slots, so that it can be a smooth, quick and an easy process for everyone.

The time slots are as follows:

  • Tuesday to Thursday: 11a-1p, 1-3p, 3-5p, 5-7p
  • Fridays: 10a-12p, 12-2p, 2-4p, 4-6p, 6-8p
  • Saturdays and Sundays: 9-11a, 11a-1p, 1-3p, 3-5p, 5-7p

Tickets for the first week go on sale this Thursday, September 17 at 10AM on the Big E's website. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go prepare for this. Let me get one of those baked potatoes, please!
