Do you buy local? How about hyper-local? I try to keep my spending in Litchfield County. We don't have the population of Hartford, New Haven and Fairfield Counties, but I think that makes the competition for commerce a bit more challenging. There is an abundance of quality products in most categories if you look, and try.

I love supporting local businesses, it's vital in 2025 to try to devote as much of our income to our friends and neighbors, if not, the wave of closures will continue. I bought four products made in Litchfield County in the past few months that really impressed me. On a National stage, I believe they are as good, if not superior, to the name brands.

Have a Look Inside the Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame
Did you know that Mohegan Sun is home to the Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame? I didn't, and I quite literally strolled right into it this past weekend. Mohegan Sun has played a huge role in keeping the sport alive by hosting numerous events over the past few decades, it's a perfect place to honor the best boxers to ever come from Connecticut.

Hi fellow Carnivores of Connecticut, I've purchased poultry, pork, beef, and even venison & Cornish game hens from hundreds of grocery stores, processing facilities, and specialty butchers in Connecticut. When I want the best quality meat, I go to these 5 stores.
