Did you ever find yourself wondering which TV dads are from Connecticut?  Well, if not, I did and thought I would check the interweb to see.  It was a perfect time to check with Fathers Day weekend upon us. I don’t know if they were ever specifically mentioned on their respective series, but was surprised to find these guys “lived” in Connecticut.

First up is Darrin from Bewitched who was dad to Tabitha and Adam.  He worked as an account executive at an advertising firm, McMann & Tate and we often find him less than thrilled when Samantha uses her magic.  You may be surprised to find they lived in Westport, CT.  I wonder if he would have been admonishing her for levitating produce at the Westport Farmers Market if it was around those days.

It seems that Westport was a very popular town for TV dads as the one and only Ricky Ricardo brought his wife Lucy and son Ricky there from the city in the final season of I Love Lucy.  According to Wiki Fandom, writer Bob Weiskopf lived in Westport, CT prior to moving out to Los Angeles which is why the town was chosen.  Whatever the case may be, no matter where Ricky laid his feet, we can all still hear his beloved bellow “Luuuuuucy, I’m hooooome!”.

Finally, for the hat trick, is a former major league St. Louis Cardinal’s second baseman who relocated to Fairfield, CT with his daughter Samantha to work as a live-in housekeeper for Angela Bower after a shoulder injury forced him into retirement.  Did you already guess who it is?  What if I said this dad frequently shouted “Ay-oh! Oh-ay!” often accompanied by an eager smile?  Ok, how about another clue?  He always ensured that any issues Samantha had were resolved by the end of the episode and he whipped up a mean Italian sauce that was no doubt a recipe passed down from his Brooklyn root’s mama?  C’mon…you know who it is…Tony Micelli!

NBA Legend 7 Footer Played College Ball In Bridgeport Connecticut

Basketball has been a huge part of my existence and I was excited to find out that Manute Bol played for the University of Bridgeport for one season before moving to the NBA. That gave me the chance and excuse to reminisce and look up some pictures of the man in action. From his one season as a Purple Knight to an epic clash with one of the all-time greats, check out these amazing photos...my favorite is at the end!
