If your idea of a night of entertainment includes watching 400+ pound men try to force each other out of a circular dirt ring inside one of the world's premiere resort casinos, you're in luck, something like that is coming back to Connecticut in November.

All Star Sumo will come back to the Premier Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut on Saturday night, November 15, 2025 at 8PM.  Two of the heaviest Sumo superstars in the world have been announced to appear at the show, Ichi and Hiroki, both are multiple championship winners, and both weigh over 400 pounds from my estimation.

You may have seen these two giants recently at Foxwoods for the grand opening of Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto's Momosan by Morimoto Restaurant.

Sumo wrestling is a competitive, full-contact sport that originated in Japan nearly 1,300 years ago (around the years 715-720) Sumo is recognized as Japan's National sport, and the athletes strictly follow traditions throughout their careers. The goal of the sport is to knock your opponent out of the circular dirt ring or force your opponent to touch the ground with any body part other than the soles of their feet. This can be accomplished by pushing, slapping, tugging, and generally pounding the bare flesh of your beefy opponent.

You will not see a Sumo athlete under 5 foot 6 inches tall or under 148 pounds, those were the bare minimums up until 2023, but in recent years some potential athletes were welcomed into the Sumo community based on athleticism.

Tickets are on sale now and range from $64 to $200.
