Stay Cool Connecticut, Spirit Halloween is Already Hiring
Even though it's supposed to be 95+ degrees today, and it's only the third official day of Summer 2025, a cool weather favorite is about to come back to Connecticut.
Are you ready for Halloween? Yeah, I know, today is June 23, and the cool breeze of Fall seems months away, but it's really not. October 31 is only four months from now. I saw an advertisement on social media this morning, even though it's 91 degrees as I write this, that Spirit Halloween is on it's way back across the nation in the next few weeks.
What is Spirit Halloween? And where do they go in the Summer?
Over the past few years you may have noticed a seasonal costume shop open in a former Rite Aid, or an old TGI Fridays in your town. Spirit Halloween bills itself as 'The World's #1 Costume Store', and they've accomplished that by working out seasonal leases for vacant commercial properties close to you.
Spirit Halloween is owned by Spencer's Gifts, and they've opened up over 1,400 temporary locations across the US in the past few years from July to mid-November. After negotiating 60–90-day leases with commercial property owners, seasonal employees are hired, and the costume trucks start pulling in.
As of today, Monday, June 23, the employment solicit is up on Spirithalloween.com. In 2024, over 20 locations blanketed Connecticut. For 2025, locations have yet to be announced.
The hottest costumes for 2025? Chucky and Glenda, Ghostbusters, Lilo & Stich, and every Disney character in their universe are featured in the splash page. Stay cool and apply.
