This makes me sad!

Just the beginning of this month, I wrote about how the Spirit Halloween chain announced that they will be having select stores transform into Spirit Christmas stores and Connecticut was one of the lucky states to get chosen. All of the locations were primarily in the northeast and there were only going to be 10 locations. At the time, the Waterford store in the Crystal Mall was one of the select locations.

It was brought to my attention that Connecticut will no longer be a Spirit Christmas location. The store locator shows that the only states that will be participating are Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Now, the closest location to us will probably be the Poughkeepsie, NY location.

The point of Spirit Christmas was to spread Christmas cheer like they do for Halloween. The purpose of the stores were to have thousands of stocking stuffers, holiday apparel, fun gifts, unique décor, and everything you'll need to get you started for Christmas time. They also had photo opportunities with Santa.

I found a YouTube video that gives you a sneak peak of the first Spirit Christmas that opened its doors so that you can get an idea of what the store is like.

Honestly, I think it's pretty genius to have a store like this. It looks like your one stop shop to all things Christmas. I'm hoping these flagship stores doing really well so that these can start popping up all around the country. For now, I guess we will just have to wait since it doesn't look like Connecticut is in the cards just yet.
