Lenny "Nails" Dykstra is a Renaissance man of sorts. He was a World Champ with the New York Mets, had a successful run with the Phillies, built a real estate empire, lost an empire, went to jail, got released from jail, and now, has written a book about his life.

Lenny is out promoting his new book called, House of Nails: A Memoir of Life on the Edge. The book is a New York Times Best Seller right now, and for good reason. Lenny has one story after another from his playing days and beyond. He pulls no punches in the book or any of his interviews. Today was no exception. Give it a listen:

The guy admitted to trying to get thrown out of a game because he was too hungover to play. That is the type of thing we all know goes on in sports, but players rarely tell us the truth. Lenny is in a very exclusive group of people that dish pro ball dirt. The others, like Jose Canseco, are just not good story tellers. Lenny Dykstra is welcome on the Ethan and Lou show anytime.
