Do You Know What The State Dog of Connecticut Is?
Man's best friend can bring so much joy to any family. Their attention and love can melt the hearts of even the coldest characters (me). Having a dog isn't just fun and rewarding but studies show that having a dog can be healthier than not having one.
According to Time Magazine:
Having a dog around can lead to lower levels of stress for both adults and kids. They’ve been found to decrease the risk of asthma in children and have been linked to lower blood pressure.
If having a dog is good for the family, good for your health then it would stand to reason it would be good for the State of Connecticut. Do you happen to know what Connecticut's state dog is?
It's kind of a trick question, we don't have a state dog but there is a proposal in the works to get one. According to NBC CT:
State lawmakers are considering making the Siberian Husky the official state dog and UConn’s mascot, Jonathan XV, is all for it.

Bill 5304 was introduced to the public back in March 2024. UCONN's mascot Jonathan the Husky XV even came out to support the effort. Jonathan and his handlers took part in a hearing with the Government Administration and Elections Committee to throw his weight behind it.
Everyone is a sucker for dogs, goofy stunts involving dogs and wasting time so this should be a layup. I support this effort, let's make the Siberian Husky the State Dog of Connecticut but let's make it quick this doesn't have to be a procedure.
