Danbury's free, fun, frightening family event is called Halloween on the Green and it's all day tomorrow (10/29/22). City Center Danbury has paired up with the Kiwanis Club of Greater Danbury to bring hours of Halloween adventure to the city.

The 30th annual event goes from 1-4 pm on the green on Ives Street. Families and children can show up in costume and be part of a variety of activities, including a costume contest and parade. There will also be live music, vendors and goodie bags provided by AFC Urgent Care. The goodie bags will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis to the first 600 costumed children.

There will be prizes given for the costume contest winners in the following categories:

  • Most Original
  • Scariest
  • Cutest

I have not been to Halloween on the Green in the past but my wife took my daughter last year. I remember because it was raining, and I heard about that when she got back.
She said, even though the weather was bad, the organizers did a great job making sure all the kids had fun and the party went on, as-scheduled. I know some of the folks down at City Center so I know what a great job they do to pull these types of activities together. I'll probably see you there. There is no way I'm getting out of it again. BOO!
Have I mentioned, I love this city?
