Lots of Drugs Confiscated at Phish Show in Albany
Psychedelic jam band Phish played three consecutive nights at MVP in Albany over the weekend, and while they were in town, they kept local law enforcement pretty busy.
Phish is an American rock band formed in Burlington, Vermont, in 1983. They're known for their musical improvisations, "jams," during concert performances and for their devoted fan following. Many fans camped in the Albany area while the band was in town for the three-day benefit shows on October 25th, 26th, and 27th.
Phish's music blends elements of various genres, including funk, reggae, psychedelic rock, folk, blues, bluegrass, electronic music, and pop. Inspired by the stylings of the Grateful Dead, the band has no shortage of fans who partake in various mind-altering substances.
What Did Police Seize?
The Albany County Sheriff's office said the team was busy for the Phish concerts this past weekend in Albany.
A Facebook post by Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple said they seized 274 grams of psilocybin, 381 grams of ketamine, 103 grams of cocaine, 173 Xanax, 1380 hits of LSD, and 58 MDMA.
