It's Thursday, January 9, 2025, the wind is blowing at 20MPH, and the temperature is 24 degrees as I'm typing this. Exactly one year ago, my friend couldn't believe what he was seeing outside of the Danbury Fair Mall. Major flooding was happening, and he sent me a few incredible photos.

Most of Connecticut was underwater a year ago, many roads around the state were flooded due to the warm temps melting the snow that had piled up from a weekend snowstorm. As I recall, a warm rainstorm really kicked the melting into overdrive, and this was the result on Backus Ave. Have a look at what a difference one year makes.

One Year Ago Today The Swamp Almost Got Inside Danbury Fair Mall

One year ago today on January 9, 2024, major flooding was happening around our area as snow from a recent storm was melted away quickly by drenching rains. It got interesting and a bit dangerous in Danbury. I received a bunch of photos from my friend Gino who couldn't believe what he was seeing as he stopped into the Danbury Fair Mall.
