Police say an unnamed victim was assaulted by three Danbury men on Friday. According to the CT Post, police say the attack took place after a two car accident on Meadow Street in South Norwalk.

Authorities say the suspect vehicle cut off the victim car and the two collided. Sgt. Sofia Gulino was dispatched to the area after a car wreck was reported to the Department. The Sgt. appeared on the scene around 1:30 am Friday (3/5/21) to investigate what she thought was just a a motor vehicle accident but learned there was more to the situation.

Cops say Xavier Bryan, 19, of Alan Avenue, Michael Garcia, 20, of High Ridge Road and Juan Jimenez, 19, of Pembroke Road have all been charged with assault. Gulino says the victim told her, after the accident, the suspects chased and assaulted them.

The victim reportedly told the officer they know the three suspects and were robbed, in addition to the attack. The victim was brought to Norwalk Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The three Danbury men were arrested, taken into custody and each held on $50,000 bond.  The suspects face more than just assault charges, the alleged driver (Xavier Bryan) is also charged with criminal mischief, reckless driving and reckless endangerment.

Garcia and Jimenez face reckless endangerment and criminal mischief above and beyond their assault charges. The victim reportedly called a friend after the car wreck, who then called the police alerting them to the alleged incident.

Although the victim says they were robbed, there are no mentions of a firearm by police.

That is very interesting that the victim claims they know the suspects. How many car accidents have you been in with a person you know? How often do the person or persons in the other car rob you and attack you (allegedly)? That sounds like it's a rare set of circumstances.

We will have to wait for the wheels of justice to finish spinning to know what really happened. But, if the allegations turn out to be true ,this is the reverse of what I feel like we normally read about.

Many times, I feel as if we read about criminal activity in Danbury with suspects from surrounding cities. In those situations, I usually ask these cities to keep their crime in their city and out of ours. This is potentially not a great look for the Hat City.
