The pandemic has done so much damage to Connecticut, we reported just this morning that Bed, Bath & Beyond just announced 4 Connecticut stores will be closing soon permanently. It's more important now than ever to try and keep your dollars going towards businesses rooted in our local communities. Hartford's Italian-American community has long flocked to Franklin Avenue for their comfort food, but, so many of the old-school restaurants and deli's have shuttered up over the past couple of decades along the Avenue. The former owners of Franklin Ave's Corner Grinder did just that, they have moved down the street a bit, into Old Wethersfield, and they just opened up a brand new Italian Restaurant yesterday.

Lenoci's Italian Kitchen is located at 285 Main Street in Old Wethersfield. Taking a quick glance through their menu, which you can see by clicking HERE, the grinders are all priced at $9-10, and feature traditional favorites like Parm, Broccoli Rabe & Sausage, Meatball, and Prosciutto. The combo sandwiches are what caught my eye: The Siracusa features roasted eggplant, roasted peppers, and fresh mootz. If you're a bit shy on the culinary front, they do offer The Americano also, which is basically a turkey sandwich, come on, be adventurous and try The Palermo, with it's Soppressata and prosciutto? You'll be dancing along to the Tarantella in no time. They also serve up two different styles of Pizza, a traditional round, and also a thin square crust, salads, flat breads, calzones, and a kids menu for the little ones.
