Not a drop of blood ever appeared on film, but the thought and the images were still frightening. The original Halloween came out in 1978 and they didn't need to gross people out with a ton of blood and gore, it was pure fright from the mind of co-writer and director John Carpenter. An icon of the horror industry, a genre with a very enthusiastic and passionate fanbase.

The love of the horror film genre will take center stage in just a few days and an excellent primer for the Halloween season. Something called, Horror News Network (what a cool freaking name) presents the Connecticut Horror Fest coming to Naugatuck on Friday and Saturday, September 16th and 17th. It's a two-day event full of scary stuff that people who enjoy the crap out of horror films will be sure to enjoy.

From costume contests with several age groups and cash prizes to meeting celebrities from some of your favorite cult classic horror films, it's everything you know and love from a good Horror Fest. The lineup of celebrities is extensive with the dude from one of my favorite cult horror films Re-Animator, Jeffrey Combs will be there, and that is worth it for me right there. There is a Re-Animator Action Figure I have my eye on, it would be perfect for him to sign.

I already have several Michael Myers figures, Leatherface, Jason, and a really cool figure from Hostel (pictured below). Yep, I am definitely a fan of the horror genre, as is my girlfriend Jen, she attended this exact same Horror Fest a few years ago and go a pic of the one and only George Romero, which I have for you to see. Mentioning the legend George Romero, three actors from the original iconic horror film Night of the Living Dead will be there.

The Barker Character, Comic and Cartoon Museum in Cheshire, CT

It's the Barker Character, Comic & Cartoon Museum, and just as the name says, it has all those things and more. It was like strolling down memory lane when I saw the pictures of some of the items that are a part of this massive personal collection.
