My First Impressions of Middlebury’s New DG Market
Dinova's Four Corners Grocery Store in Middlebury, Connecticut announced that they were closing down for good five Months ago after 83 years in business. DG General, a new concept from Dollar General was announced as the new operators of the space located at 600 Middlebury Road. The new store is open, I just went in for the first time, and here's my first impressions.
Middlebury has the third DG Market in Connecticut, the other ones are in Thomaston and Essex. My first impression is that Middlebury's new DG Market is not a 'new concept', it's just like every other Dollar General that I've been in. If you've been to the Dollar General right down the street across from Spartan's in Waterbury, you've got a good idea. Fresh groceries? Not yet, that area of the new DG Market store is still under wraps. The selection of products in the store at this moment kind of reminded me of shopping at the Watertown Kmart right before it closed. Have a look -
