My Appearance on Fox News Radio Last Night Was Both Fair and Balanced
There are I am, getting a little too overzealous in the Fox News Radio studio.
I not only was on "Fox News Talk" with Leslie Gold last night, but I took over the controls. That's me on the phone, off the air, talking to a caller named Shannon from Sacramento, California.
What a great time. I got to fulfill some radio nerd-boy dreams, and I did a pretty good job. My wife and I made our way down to the Fox News Building at 48th and 6th, and got an inside look at their operation.
That is the entrance, not a great photo.
The lobby is kind of big. I noticed the Security Guards did not have chairs, so I spent a few minutes with them letting them know I wish they DID have chairs.
This was my security pass. It took a while to get it. They made sure I was supposed to be there, checked that I was who I said I was, and even got us an escort to take us up to the studio.
The hallway was even intimidating. When I saw this, I started to think they might actually have expectations of my appearance. That was worrisome, since I make pee-pee and poo-poo jokes for a living.
This is the control room where I waited to go on with Leslie. She was in the middle of a segment on how major corporations are offering to freeze their female employees' eggs.
The idea behind this is apparently to persuade them not to get pregnant right away. As you can imagine, I was busting at the seems not being in on this segment.
Finally in the studio doing my thing with Leslie. Sorry for the quality, my wife's phone is on its way out.
Doing my thing part 2 -- Erica's phone continues to fail my whole family.
They gave me a tour of Brian Kilmeade's studio, but did not bother to turn the lights on. On my way out, I noticed an entire wall of archived shows, including the first five years of the late Alan Colmes' shows. I respect the archive game.
Brian Kilmeade's control room. Apparently, the guy does have friends.
Erica and I riding the high in the elevator on the way out.
My view leaving the Fox News studios.
Erica and I riding the high part two, this time on the street. We looked like a couple of tourists seeing the city for the first time -- I did not care.
The whole experience was fun and positive. Thanks, Leslie Gold, for putting enough trust in me that I would not be the downfall of the Fox News Corporation.
I reached out to the team down there to see if I can get the audio from my segments and am waiting to hear back. If they release them to me, I'll play a few minutes of it on the Ethan and Lou show and let you guys critique my work.
