My 2019 Holiday Season Was One For The Ages
The Holiday season is always an amazing time filled with food, fun and laughter but this year was really something special and will be memorable. Why? The activities I claim to hate. It was an active season thanks to my wife. It all was kicked off at the annual Milano family Christmas.
We had plenty of space to roam at the party but as will happen, we all crammed into the kitchen and spent the night there. Uncle Chris seems furious about something and Emma found a camera.
It took way to long for everyone to get in place for the men's Christmas photo but we were hysterical with laughter while doing it.
Looks like part of my head made it into this cousin photo. Billy has the fish lips going. Next up was our annual Festivus celebration that Erica and I host.
Note the Festivus pole, I got it out of the crawl space because I find tinsel distracting.
The whole gang rounded up for the disappointingly dark pic.
Lisa and Rob got their turns holding the Festivus pole right before the "Airing of Grievances.
I led the "Airing of Grievances" but Erica interrupted early and often, I now have my grievance for next year's celebration. If we had not done enough already it was off to NYC. Erica, her cousins and I rented the basement of a place called Lorely Beer Garden on the Lower East side. Things got wild.
At this point in the night we were still mildly photogenic.
We cruised through Little Italy on the way there.
I observed nature at it's finest.
I was worried we would run out of drinks, we did not.
This is early in the event, things were tame at this point. That lasted about twenty minutes.
I became obsessed with alleyway across from the bar, I thought it was so cool that I didn't mind embarrassing myself for a selfie or twelve.
This isn't some cool filter, just a pretty accident.
Back to the alley for some low level photography. What can I say, it's a cool alley.
This one is called selfie on selfie.
I insisted Erica come check out the alley, she was not digging my obsession. Finally, it was time for a New Year's Eve celebration.
A dance party for the kids.
A dance party for the adults. This was easily one of my favorite holiday seasons of my adult life. I am blessed to have the friends and family I have. Each person I am close with is funny, bright and engaging and we party like you read about. I hope your holiday was as amazing as mine, Happy New Year.
