We sure do love talking about new businesses opening in Danbury.

The warm March weather has me ready for spring and to crack a cold beer and sit outside. We're lucky to have a few really great breweries around us - Two Roads in Stratford, of course, Housatonic River Brewing in New Milford, Charter Oak in Danbury, Broken Symmetry in Bethel, NewSylum in Newtown, Reverie Brewing in Newtown, the list goes on.

In March 2024, CT Insider announced the exciting launch of Elicit Brewing Company in Danbury Square Plaza, taking over the former Barnes & Noble location. The brewery will not only serve exceptional craft beer with multiple beer taps, but will also feature superb food, a beer garden, and live music. Elicit Brewing Company is on track to be fully operational by this spring.

According to the floor plans developed by Elicit Brewing, the Danbury location will have the capacity to accommodate 422 patrons, and its beer garden will be able to host 100 beer enthusiasts. They currently have two locations - one in Fairfield and one in Manchester. I've been to the Fairfield one before, and it's such a cool experience.

They're unique in their own way because there are so many different things to do inside the one place. There's a brewery, a kitchen with great food, a speakeasy, an outside area with a giant projector screen, live music, it's got it all. Technically, it's the perfect place to go and checks all of the boxes. The creators of this are genius, in my opinion.

Just recently, Elicit Danbury posted to Instagram their first sneak peak at what the building will look like.

There is currently no set opening date, but it looks like it will be the perfect addition to Danbury. Along with our other great local breweries, I can't wait to see how Elicit fits right in.
