Multiple New Flight Routes Announced Out of Connecticut

More opportunities to travel make me a happier person. We have the airport giants surrounding our state and I'm very grateful for that, but we don't always want to travel to New York or New Jersey to hop on a flight. Usually when flying, I look at prices for JFK / LGA and then look at BDL. If Hartford is only a little bit more expensive, I'm choosing that airport every time. I like our airports that sit in Connecticut and I'm happy to see that they continue to expand.

One of my favorite airports is Tweed in New Haven. When Avelo Airlines came to Connecticut and they started expanding that line, it became so convenient for travelers in our state. It's now extremely easy to travel the east coast. The flights are direct, they're quick, they're easy and the airline is definitely cheaper than what you would get somewhere else. My favorite thing will always be the convenience factor of New Haven. If you haven't been yet, it's definitely not luxurious, but it gets the job done.

Avelo Airlines just announced that they will be added 5 new routes from Connecticut. Four out of the five routes will be out of New Haven and the last will be out of Hartford. The Hartford destination will actually be the airline's third international destination from the airport.

Starting as early as February, Avelo is adding services to Jacksonville, Florida, Dallas-Forth Worth, Texas, Detroit, Michigan, and Portland, Maine. This is extremely exciting. This means so many more travel opportunities. Hartford's new route will be Punta Cana.

Jacksonville's service will begin in February, Dallas-Forth Worth in March, Detroit in April, and Maine in May. Punta Cana will also begin in February. They will only be flying to these destinations on select days, so you will definitely have to plan around the dates given, but it's definitely worth taking a look at.

Any new travel options that come to our state excites me. The main thing I look for when traveling is convenience, so when something quick and easy is presented to me, I definitely jump at the opportunity. I'm excited for more opportunities in 2025 and I can't wait for new destinations to continue popping up.
