I'm sure you've seen the news around Connecticut, but Metro North has a bunch of delays and cancellations on the New Haven Line in Connecticut due to downed wires in Westport. If you don't frequent the trains, this can mean nothing to you. But when you're actively involved in the situation, it's not fun to deal with.

I was actively involved in it last night. I went to the city for a concert and didn't really think anything of it. We took a 10:40 train home from Grand Central and were making our way back to Connecticut. We got an announcement over the speaker that we would all have to get off at Greens Farms and transfer by bus since the trains couldn't go any further.

The train itself then added a few different New York stops as well. After a very long train ride, we stopped in Greens Farms for everyone to get off the train. They then had you wait for a city bus to pick you up and bring you to Bridgeport where you would have to wait for a train there, and take it back to your respective train station.

It was after 1 AM by this point, so wow I wasn't expecting all of that. We ended up just taking an Uber from the station we got dropped off at to our station our car was parked at. I'm telling this more so as a PSA if you were planning on going into the city while the lines were still down. I checked the MTA website and it says that there are delays due to downed lines.

I don't see any current information about what they're doing to shuttle people between train stations. Just something to think about when planning your trip into the city if you plan to do so while this is all going on.

I feel like we take for granted the smooth processes that are in place until something like this happens. Let's just say my normal commute to/from the city was extended by quite some time. But at the end of the day, it's really all they could do.

While the situation in itself isn't fun, I appreciate everyone that helps in situations like these.
