Dude Hits Up Connecticut Reddit for Magic Mushroom Prices
I'm going to spare this guy the indignity of sharing his Reddit screen name for a few reasons. One, it's embarrassing (also kind of funny), and secondly, I don't want to get anyone in trouble.

Recently, a dude hit up the Connecticut Reddit page to find out the going rate for magic mushrooms in the Nutmeg State, writing:
“What’s the going rate for magic mushrooms in CT these days?”
"Back when I used to partake, it was always like $30-40 an eighth. With everyone growing them now and them being so normalized, is an eighth what you get in a dime bag? Sorry if I’m not allowed to ask this here. I think the economy of the black market where we live is actually a super fitting topic of discussion, but subreddits often have zero tolerance, and I apologize in advance if this is intolerable."
The responses were varied, but here are some of my favorites:
EnslavedToGaijin: "No officer, I don't know the going rate for said illegal substance."
MetalPandaDance: "As you say, many people grow them now, and it's never been easier! I don't know the going rate right now, but I do know they sell grow kits and spores at certain head shops. I got a kit at Stoked in Bridgeport for like $60, and it's foolproof. It takes two months or something, and boom, you have PE."
disorient: "An eighth (aka one eighth of an ounce) is a unit of measurement and is 3.5 grams. Like any black market good, price is completely dependent on your connections."
SummaJa87: "About one year probation."
Maleficent_Radish798: "Heard an ounce is $180-220, but I don't know for certain."
Timely_General9962: "I don’t know what would be wilder: if this is CSP on a fishing expedition, or if OP is actually just casually discussing the illegal psychedelics market. I know it's becoming more normalized, but police definitely still care. Also, if you get busted with mushrooms, at some point this thread becomes evidence of a conspiracy to distribute. Discussing buying and selling illegal drugs on an open public forum is a bad idea."
Hey, I'm not laughing at the guy. I love bold people, and he did get some very helpful answers to his question. I learned a lot.
