I received a really cool video this past Saturday (11/26/22).

I had just finished watching a college football game where the Michigan Wolverines beat Ohio State, for the second year in a row. This is arguably the best rivalry in all of sports so no matter the outcome, it will get talked about. When the game was over, I was texting with some friends who were also watching and one of the sent me the "cool video."

The video was taken one year ago, at "The Big House" where Michigan plays. It was 100,000 Michigan fans celebrating their first win over O.U. in years. The entire crowd stayed after the win and sang along with "Mr. Brightside" by the Killers.

Watching this video I'd never seen before gave me two distinct thoughts, the first being, sports is awesome. The second thing that occurred to me was a reminder of how much I love this song. When the Killers released the song to radio in 2003, I couldn't get enough of it "Mr. Brightside" was also the first single on their 2004 debut album "Hot Fuss" and I bought the CD immediately. I played this song on loop for months.

I bought the album (CD) for that one-song, specifically. That is what we did, back in the day. If you liked a song, and they were not releasing a CD single (rare), you had to buy the entire album. Once I'd played "Mr. Brightside" until I could not stand the sound of it, I let my ears wander through the rest of the tracks and figured out, I owned a great album.

From there on, life intervened,18 years passed and I'd barely thought about or heard the song, until Saturday. Maybe that is a bit dramatic but you get the idea, it was not taking up any space in my head. Then, on Monday (11/28/22), I got a press release from my contact at Mohegan Sun that read:

"The Killers are returning to Mohegan Sun Arena for the first time since 2016, and will take the stage at 8:00pm on Friday, March 17, 2023.

Tickets are $129.50, $99.50, and $79.50 and go on sale Friday, December 2nd at 10:00am. Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office beginning Saturday, December 3rd, subject to availability."

How about that, the Killers come back into my life on Saturday, I find out on Monday that they've announced a new show, in my neighborhood and it takes place right around my birthday. It was meant to be, I think I have to go to this show. If you want to go, get your tickets at Ticketmaster or Mohegan Sun.

If you're not familiar with the band, or don't trust my recommendation, ask one of the other 25 million people that have bought their albums.

P.S. What a game, I love watching Ohio State lose, almost as much as I like watching Alabama lose.

CT Governor Ned Lamont Made a Surprise Visit to Danbury Yesterday

Hey look, it's the Governor of the great State of CT, walking our Danbury Streets. Yes, the Governor was in town yesterday to meet with Danbury residents and business owners. I was invited but not able to attend. I asked Former Danbury City Councilman and Former Mayoral candidate Roberto Alves if he'd share some photos and he agrees. Alves took it a step further and provided me with an outline of how the day went. I wanted to know why the Governor was there? Who was in attendance? Did the Gov seem accessible to our residents? Alves answered all those questions, his answers are below in quotations.
