A Full Strawberry Moon Will Be Over Connecticut Skies Soon
Mark those calendars! We are giving you plenty of a heads up.
Another celestial event is happening over Connecticut skies, so of course I need to talk about it. In May, I wrote about the Flower Moon that was going to be shining bright. Were you able to get a glimpse of it? It definitely was bright over our skies. I never got a picture because pictures don't do it justice, but it's always so cool to see.

Since I've been updating you about sky events, I feel the need to continue to do so. On June 11, we will have a full Strawberry Moon that will be shining over Connecticut.
What is a Strawberry Moon?
Great question. The Strawberry Moon is actually just the name of June's full moon. It doesn't necessarily have to do with the color of what you'll see on June 11, but it has to do with the time of year. According to the almanac, this “Strawberry Moon” name comes from the ripening of “June-bearing” strawberries that are ready to be gathered.
The Strawberry Moon looks like it will be at its peak over Danbury at 3:46 AM. You will definitely still be able to see it leading into the night as well as a little bit of time afterward, but that is the time you'll be able to see the full moon at its peak.
