Italian Restaurant Features an Actual Working Telephone Booth
Amazing! I was blown away by the working phone booth and the owner's sparkly vest!
The occasion was my mother-in-law, Connie's 90th birthday party at a restaurant in Schenectady on Foster Ave. named 'John Riccitello's Restaurant.' This was no ordinary restaurant, my friends. This was an Italian eatery that was a throwback to the late 60's with a classic working phone booth, fake wood paneling, and a bartender with a sparkly vest that his wife handcrafted.
Most importantly, we were all there to celebrate my mother-in-law's 90th birthday! Connie stands about 4 feet 6 inches, plays bocce ball and waits tables at the area VFW. She is one feisty senior!
We were all thrilled to be a part of Connie's special day at such a unique eatery which was located in a blue-collar part of town. It looked just like all the other houses on Foster Ave. except for the sign. If you're ever in Schenectady, NY and looking for some home cooked Italian food, don't judge a book by its' cover. 'John Riccitello's Restaurant' scores a 4.7/5 on Google Maps.
The greatest hits of Connie's 90th Birthday party on Saturday afternoon was that 'John Riccitello's Restaurant' served up some of the best chicken parm that I've ever tasted plus my almost 5-year-old grandson Bradley had absolutely no clue what a pay phone even was!
Happy Birthday Ma! May you have 90 more and a big thanks to bartender/owner John Riccitello for the great food, amazing vibe, and excellent service!
