We spoke to Chad on the Wednesday (08/07/24) edition of the I-95 Morning Show and learned that not only is he hilarious but he was the inspiration for a joke by the late Mitch Hedberg that remains one of the greatest jokes of all time.

We asked Chad about his comedy influences and he shared some amazing names that helped form the comedian he is today, guys like Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor and John DeBoer. We spoke about how Richard Pryor's ability to be so painfully honest with his audiences and how that resonates with people.

That is when Chad brought up Mitch Hedberg.

Chad: "I think one-liners are funny, one of the funniest people that has ever lived is Micth Hedberg. He was just one brilliant one-liner after another but I think to really deep-dive a story, to feel that human connection, that's pretty cool."

Lou: I love that you said Mitch Hedberg, I love Mitch! One of my favorite jokes of all-time is when he said, I don't like pancakes, two bites and you're f------ sick of them.

Chad: "Yup, so I used to open for Hedberg a lot and he has a joke where he goes, you know what my friend said? You know what I like? Mashed potatoes. Hey man, you gotta give me time to guess. I don't know if you've ever heard it. That was actually about me. We were out eating and I said that and he grabbed his notebook and wrote something down, so I watched his set that night and he said that and I have never been more thrilled in my stand-up career."

Be sure to check out "Empty Nester" available now on Netflix.
