Iconic CT Restaurant Closing After 40 Years
For 40 years, the Black Duck Cafe in Westport has been serving up food and drinks along the Saugatuck River in Westport. Unfortunately, the landmark restaurant announced today that it is down to its last few days of operation.
The owners of the Black Duck broke the news today in a Facebook post.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce our closing. We've had an amazing 40 years here in Saugatuck/Westport... and we are grateful for every friend we've had the pleasure to serve and entertain along the way.
The Black Duck was famous for it's long-running Tuesday night Karaoke night, the Thursday all-star jam hosted by popular local musician Wendy May, and live music on the weekends. I had the pleasure of hanging out there on a couple of lazy Sunday afternoons over the years, and its scenic waterfront location made for a nice, casual good time. Sorry to see them go.
The restaurant and bar will be open Tuesday and Wednesday, October 30 and 31, closed Thursday and Friday November 1 and 2, and back open to say goodbye on Saturday and Sunday, November 3 and 4. They invite all of their customers and friends to stop down and
go out with a real BANG!"
