Waterbury: What’s With This Pothole?

Do you see that massive black hole on the right side of the street in the photo? That pothole/storm drain/meteor strike is located right after the intersection of Country Club road and Thendara Drive in Waterbury. Post University students and faculty, you know the one I'm talking about?

Here's another aerial view of this monster. It's a catch basin for a storm drain, but the sides have been eroding for about five years. If you lazily cruise around the corner, and don't pay attention to where you're going, this thing will come up, and bite you with a strut-shattering thump. I can't tell you how many times I've drifted into the abyss over the years. Beware Waterbury commuters, it'll jolt the fillings out of your teeth.
