Retired comedy legend Lisa Lampanelli is coming to the Music Theater of Connecticut with her show "Irrelevant" on August 3rd and August 9th. Ahead of these exciting dates, Lisa dropped by the I-95 Studios and things got funny and a little deep.

I don't know how we got there but we started discussing death and things got funny and deep, all at once. Lisa mentioned that she just recently paid for her funeral.

Lisa: "Hey, I just paid for my funeral, I don't care. It was my biggest purchase of the last year. I went in, I have a good friend who..."

Lou: You got a crypt?

Lisa: "No, I'm going under I can't wait to be buried but what happened was I think you should go plan your funeral in advance."

At this point Lisa threw a curveball and just mentioned that she never worries about her own demise.

Lisa: "Yeah I never worry about death so what are you gonna do? I was just telling Chopper Dave that I just adopted a third dog. Dude, at my age now they make you put down who you will give those dogs to if you die. Like, they won't let you have a dog. So, my Manager Maggy loves all my dogs, she goes I'll take all three. So I go eh, if I die tomorrow my dogs are fine."

It became clear at this point in the discussion that Lisa was interviewing us but I was fine with it because she hit me in the feels with her next question.

Lisa: "By the way, do you hate when a celebrity dies and then people post pictures with them like they were friends? I hate that."

Lou: Now, I'm definitely going to do that when you die!

Lisa: "I was gonna say you definitely are going to do that. I wouldn't hate it with me but I'm like you did not know them. Like you accosted them before their Broadway performance of Hadestown. There is no way they like you! They loved meeting you Queen! What!? They didn't like meeting you!"

Lou: Can you tell our listeners a little bit about your show "Irrelevant?"

Lisa: "It's a little like a story, an hour and a half about struggling for relevance after the pandemic, after retirement, after divorce, after all that stuff. It's relatable, it's funny, it's sweet and it's really deep. If you like to laugh-ish you should come."
