A Visual Guide to Waterbury’s Drive-Thru Vaccination Site
I got my first shot of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine in Waterbury this morning. I took photos all the way through my journey to show you what you're in for and to give you a couple of helpful tips should you choose to be vaccinated.
I became age-eligible by Connecticut's standards only a couple of weeks ago. I registered for the vaccine through the CDC's VAMS website (Vaccine Administration Management System) and initially got an appointment in Shelton, CT in June. I booked the June appointment and I found that every day after that, more appointments opened up almost hourly and much closer to home.
On my 4th day of trying, a whole bunch opened up at Post University's Waterbury Hospital mass vaccination site and I managed to book appointments for both my wife and I for this morning, March 29, 2021, at 8AM. I took photos of what happens next.
Every Step of Getting Vaccinated in Waterbury
I really didn't feel the shot, I just felt a slight burn when the vaccine was injected, Mrs. Large had the same experience. As of now, which is 6 hours after I've received my first dose, I feel absolutely fine. They advise you as you're waiting in the parking lot post-shot to take some Tylenol in case you feel any side-effects. I'll update this article if anything changes.
