Uh-Oh Connecticut, New Study Says We’re Lazy as Sin!
Wallet Hub recently released it's annual list of the Hardest-Working States and Connecticut failed miserably. According to their research the state with the most hustle is North Dakota and we were many positions behind them.
Here are the 10 Hardest-Working States in the U.S.
10. Kansas
9. New Hampshire
8. Colorado
7. Texas
6. Maryland
5. South Dakota
4. Wyoming
3. Nebraska
2. Alaska
1. North Dakota
So how bad was our showing? Connecticut ranked #46 and our neighbors in New York did even worse coming in at #49.
So how did W.H. reach these numbers? They looked at a variety of key factor that included:
- Average Workweek Hours
- Employment Rate
- Idle Youth Rate
- Annual Volunteer Hours Per Resident
- Average Leisure Time Spent Per Day
We talked about this on the Monday (08/27/24) edition of the I-95 Morning Show and Ethan and I had the same takeaway.
Whenever I happen to be out of the office during the day I'm amazed at the amount of people that are shopping. God Bless these folks that have created so much freedom in their life that they can consume all day but I think I speak for the rest of us when I say, we don't like you.

Do you agree with the Wallet Hub study findings?
Part of me thinks that maybe this can be right and another comes back to our pace of life. People in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey move at a different speed than the rest of the world. So maybe we're not working as many hours but we're probably accomplishing more in less time.
