Happy Anniversary to the "Rocky" of Rocky Hill, Connecticut. It happened two years, and two days ago (April 16,2023). A brave Connecticut homeowner said not today, Satan.

In 2023, this was big news all over the Nutmeg State. In case you don't remember a Rocky Hill resident physically fought off four would-be carjackers who attempted to steal his car right out of his driveway. Keep in mind, all of this happened in broad daylight, check it out.

I love that it took four punks, and even then, they couldn’t take this guy down. Classic coward strategy: fight poorly and bring backup. Every time I watch this video, I get the sudden urge to Kool-Aid Man my way through the living room wall and start brawling with villains. Unfortunately, the last time I tried that, I made it halfway through the drywall—only to realize I was home alone. Not my proudest moment.

All the articles from that time end the same way: “The investigation is still ongoing.” I’ve scoured the internet and couldn’t find a single update. Hopefully they caught those guys—but if not, odds are they’ll walk into another well-deserved thrashing somewhere along the way.

There’s a famous quote from the Battle of the Bulge that goes, “They’ve got us surrounded again—the poor bastards.” That’s basically this dude’s mindset in a nutshell. Absolute tank.

P.S. I’ve watched the video probably 20 times over the years, and I’m starting to seriously believe the homeowner might be Shane Gillis.

Greater Danbury's 13 Most Amusing Photos Captured by the Google Car

Google Instant Street View is easily my favorite free application. You can take a digital cruise through the streets of Milan Italy, a drive down the PCH in California or tool around your local area without leaving your office chair. But the best use of Instant Street View is to catch unbeknownst moments. If you look long enough, hard enough, you will find some really funny things. I've spent years combing through the Greater-Danbury area Google footage and these are some of my favorite snaps.
