According to a release from the City of Danbury, the city’s public flu clinics are officially open for the fall, and the best part is that you don’t need to break out your wallet or dig around for an insurance card.

The City of Danbury is offering FREE flu shots at several locations around the city throughout September, October and November. The clinics are open to everyone 6 months of age and older, so this is an option for families looking to get the whole crew protected before flu season really gets going.

The first clinic is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, at the Danbury Public Library at 170 Main Street from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

After that, the flu clinic makes a few stops around town. On Saturday, October 3, you can get vaccinated at the Danbury Farmers Market at 1 Ives Street from 9 a.m. to noon. Then on Thursday, October 8, the clinic moves to Danbury Fair Mall at 7 Backus Avenue from 1 to 4 p.m.

There will also be a clinic at Rogers Park Middle School on Saturday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a stop at Danbury City Hall on Tuesday, October 27, from 3 to 6 p.m.

Danbury Fair Mall will host three additional clinics on November 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and November 19 from 2 to 5 p.m. The mall clinics will be located next to the Apple Store.

The city says no insurance is necessary to receive the free flu shot. And if none of these dates work for you, you're not necessarily out of luck. The Health Department says residents can call 203-797-4625 for more information or to ask about getting a flu shot outside of the scheduled clinic dates.

Basically, Danbury is making this about as easy as it can possibly be. Pick a date, pick a location and get the shot.
