Former ‘To Catch A Predator” Host Chris Hansen Helps Out in Fairfield Sex-Sting
From a story on NBC Connecticut, ten men were arrested on October 6th by Fairfield police with the help of the former TV host of "To Catch A Predator," Chris Hansen. The men were allegedly contacting children over the internet and are being arraigned in court this week.From a story in the News-Times, one of those men, Stephen Buchanan, who's dream was to become a Stratford police officer, has pleaded not guilty to attempted second degree sexual assault, attempted risk of injury to a child, and enticing a minor through the computer. Even scarier, after Buchanan was arrested, Fairfield police found a loaded gun, a roll of duct tape, and a knife packaged in a bag in his car. He is being held in lieu of $1.1 million bond.
The ten men range in age between 19 and 64. The sting was conducted at a Fairfield decoy home where two Fairfield University students posed as a 13 year old girl and a 13 year old boy. One by one the men were lured to the home where they were greeted by investigators, Hansen, and a camera crew before they were placed under arrest.
