For Authentic Italian Food, Brookfield’s Cibo is a Winner
I'm the last person in the world who should be doing food reviews.
I do not consider myself a foodie, I don't stick my nose in my wine glass and I don't make sex noises when I eat. However, I felt compelled to tell everyone about the meal I had on Friday night (3/17/23). My wife Erica and I went to Cibo on Federal Road in Brookfield and had a great meal. Cibo is an Italian restaurant with flavors that reminded me of my Grandma Milano's cooking.
This place checked all of my dining boxes. The service was amazing, the atmosphere was comfortable and the food was off-the-charts good. I had the Gamberi Con Polenta which is garlic jumbo shrimp, heirloom tomatoes, scampi sauce and polenta puree.
This tasted better than it looks and it looks damn good. Erica had the Soy Laquered Salmon, faro island salmon, lentils cabbage, tomato saffron and fondue.
Erica can be a tough food critic but she loved this dish. We got my daughter Vida a personal pizza and she was more than content. Not only did we have delicious food, but there was top notch local entertainment. It was a music night with Sheila & DJ Mike and spoiler alert, Sheila can sing her ass off.
Delicious entrée, check, great ambiance, check, entertainment, check and dessert, CHECK.
I would 100 percent recommend Cibo for any date night or family night out. Check them out for yourself at 350 Federal Road in Brookfield, CT and at cibobrookfield.com.
This is how the folks at Cibo describe their dining experience:
"Cibo Di Strada is a fun, fast, casual eatery for simple, healthy, and authentic Italian dishes that won’t break the bank. Eat in or take out with our ever-changing menu, full deli, bar, and brick oven. The outdoor patio is open now!!!"
I'd like to take this opportunity to give a shout out to the customer that greeted us when we walked in. His enthusiastic welcome had me convinced he worked there but it turns out he was just a really happy patron that takes saying hello, very seriously.
P.S. I would do more food reviews but I can't come up with food analogies that will make sense to anyone but me. Ex. This meal was like a frog on a skateboard, awesome.
