Every few months I will see a post on social media from someone wishing that In-N-Out Burger would open a location somewhere in Connecticut. Who has the power to draw a California or Texas-based business to New England? Connecticut does, we're flush with expendable income, but we'll never, ever see any of these five places here.

We finally have Wegman's coming to Norwalk in 2025, Raising Cane's has started to set up a couple of restaurants in Northern Connecticut, and my favorite regional coffee place Aroma Joe's has two locations in Connecticut - Bristoll and Waterbury. It's possible to garner the attention of a company that is willing to risk the extreme cost of doing business in Connecticut, but damn, it's tough. We're never going to see these places here.

Five Businesses That We Will Never, Ever See Here in Connecticut

You can get almost anything that your heart desires in the State of Connecticut, except for the products produced by these five national retailers and fast-food companies. The only way to enjoy anything from the following places is traveling out of Connecticut, or ordering it on Amazon, and a burger isn't the same after jetting across country.

Steakhouse Champion of Connecticut: The Greater Hartford Area

Some of the most enjoyable pleasures in my life are Prime ribeyes, filets, and NY strips. Steakhouses are my heaven, and if you want to check out some of the finest, most unique steakhouses in all of Connecticut, head up to the Greater Hartford area. The highest concentration of the best beef in the world is around our Capital City.
