Fists + Nostalgia: Danbury Hat Tricks Release Pre-Game Intro for 2022-2023 Season
The Danbury Hat Tricks play an exciting brand of hockey, one that is representative of the city they call home.
Danbury hockey fans are as rabid and scary as any fans, at any level of hockey. The organization also runs its business like a big-time outfit. This means that the schedule being announced is a big deal (that already happened). It also means the new pre-game introduction gets its own day (July 28, 2022).
The new introduction has subtle nods to Danbury's hockey past, and a blur of current acknowledgements. To put it plain and short, there is a lot of speed, and a ton of fighting. That is exactly how Danbury residents like it.
I've heard people say something is "too much fun", and always wondered what that meant? I know now. It's this "too much fun" thing I'm trying to avoid at the Danbury Ice Arena.
I was at the Arena (Danbury Ice Arena) a whole bunch last season, and I felt myself holding back. I was trying to keep the beast inside. There are people who know the "old me" that know exactly what this animal looks like.
Most days, I keep that person buried deep down, but the Arena needles my inner-wolf. Last year, there were a few nights where it almost broke out of its cage but I was able to hold back. I'm not sure we will get through the 2022-2023 season with the same level of restraint. This inner-terror is bound to break free, I just hope it's during a Hat Tricks game and not during a figure skating event.
Now, I need to call Herm and ask for season tickets, one for me, one for my inner-animal.
