I’ve been asked for multiple years if I would participate in this program. I have respectfully declined because I know I cannot behave in that environment. I’ve seen every Police Academy movie many times, but Police Academy 4: "Citizens on Patrol" is by far my favorite. I’d be asking for a gun every 10 minutes. I’d no doubt use any physical restraint maneuvers I learned the same afternoon. I’d probably use these restraints on jaywalkers and people loitering in my neighborhood. I would, without question, perform a citizen’s arrest and launch many informal investigations into people in the community that I deemed to be “suspicious,” AKA folks who have not showered recently.
This program is for me... but it's really not.
I'd be calling everyone punks, asking people where they are coming from, where they are headed, if they have been drinking. Actually, the more I think about it the better it sounds.
