You will sweat adrenaline and taste fear while dancing on the edge of possibility. Nah, just kidding it's the free leaf pickup announcement. Not everything can be a can of gasoline and a box of matches we have a community to run here and Danbury offers a very nice lead pickup program that helps the city look her best.
Here is Everything You Need to Know About the Leaf Pickup Program
Who is eligible?
This is for Danbury residents only and Hat City folks are divided into two groups to make the process easier. Group A are people who live in the 06810 Zip code while Group B people live in the 06811 zip code.
What is the time period?
The overall time period is October 30th - December 8th.
These are the pickup dates for Group A (06810):
October 30 – November 3
November 13 – November 17
November 27 – December
These are the pickup dates for Group B (06811):
November 6 – November 10
November 20 – November 24
December 4 – December 8
Does it cost anything?
No.
What do they take?
ONLY LEAVES bagged in PAPER LEAF BAGS with NO TAPE should be left at the curbside in front of residences for the city’s Highway Department to pick-up.
What do they refuse to take?
NO TAPE OF ANY KIND, NO PLASTIC BAGS, NO LARGE DEBRIS, NO GRASS, ROCK, DIRT, GARBAGE OR ANIMAL WASTE, NO BRUSH or TREE STUMPS.
What about tree limbs?
BRANCHES WILL BE PICKED UP SEPARATELY. Limbs must be cut into lengths no longer than 4 feet, no limb may be larger than 4 inches in diameter. Branches must be bundled with twine in bundles no heavier than 35 lbs.
Where Do We Leave our leaves?
Curbside on Sunday evenings.
