There are three types of Ethan and Lou guests we book on the show. A first time guest, someone we've had on a handful of times, who we like and our regular guests. Our regular guests come on 3 or more times a year, some as many as 10 times a year. The regulars require little to no preparation. They are regulars for a reason, we have great chemistry with them.

Then, you have the first time guest and we research them and write structural questions ahead of the interview, that will keep it moving no matter what. Dov Davidoff would fit in that middle category. We think he's funny, dig his stand up and we've had him on 3 or 4 times over the years. This type of guest requires some prep, we need all their "plug" information and most important, we need to know what is new with them. What have they been up to in their career that is fresh and relevant to talk about?

We did none of this when Dov came on the Ethan and Lou Show on Friday (12/20/19) and it became accidentally hilarious. From the insanely ill-informed introduction to me admitting I was mailing it in and all the way down to asking the question, "You're from New Jersey, right? What up with New Jersey?" Please enjoy this audio, I know we did.

Go see Dov perform at a Treehouse Comedy Club, his show is at Bobby V's in Windsor Locks, CT on December 31st, the special New Year's Eve Show. Dov is an amazing performer and is so funny. Sorry Dov, next time you get the A game.

"Has Ray Liotta been putting his face near fires?" That's what I said, I asked that and I have to live with it.
