According to a press release, ENCON Heating & Air Conditioning is opening a new location in Danbury, bringing the Connecticut-based company even further into the Greater Danbury area.

The new location is part of ENCON’s ongoing expansion and is expected to help the company serve customers throughout Western Connecticut. Basically, having a location right here means ENCON can get its people and equipment where they need to be a little quicker, while also giving the company more room to grow.

And this isn't just about heating and air conditioning. ENCON says it plans to hire more people from the local area as it expands. The company expects to add about 100 employees over the next year, with roughly 20 to 25 of those positions potentially going to people from the Greater Danbury area.

They're looking for people with experience in the trades, including HVAC technicians, mechanics, installers, service workers and sheet metal workers. They're also looking for apprentices, so you don't necessarily have to be a seasoned professional to get your foot in the door.

ENCON says it puts a lot of effort into training employees and helping them build careers in the skilled trades. The company even has its own training program, called Encon University, where employees can develop their skills and gain more experience.

The new Danbury location will serve Danbury and surrounding communities including Bethel, Brookfield, New Fairfield, Newtown and Ridgefield. ENCON provides heating, cooling, mechanical and maintenance services for both homes and businesses.

The company is planning a grand opening celebration for October 19, and city officials say they are looking forward to welcoming ENCON to Danbury.

For Danbury, another company opening up shop means more than just another business sign. It also means more potential jobs and another investment in the local economy. And considering how many tradespeople are needed these days, those new opportunities could be especially important.
