Connecticut loves its holiday lights, but when you want to stay warm and enjoy the show from the comfort of your car, drive-thru displays are where the magic really happens. Luckily, three standout experiences shine above the rest.

The top spot goes to “Magic of Lights” in East Hartford, a massive mile-long route packed with LED tunnels, animated scenes, themed displays, and constantly updated features. It’s the largest and most visually impressive drive-thru lights attraction in Connecticut, making it an easy choice for families, couples, and anyone looking for a festive night out without leaving the car.

Second place belongs to “Hebron Lions Lights in Motion.” This event is a powerhouse: more than one million synchronized LED lights and over 350 displays create an immersive, music-driven experience that fills the car with holiday energy. The route spans more than a mile and supports children’s charities, making it both spectacular and meaningful.

Rounding out the top three is New Haven’s long-running “Fantasy of Lights.” Located at Lighthouse Point Park, this classic display features more than 60 installations and over 100,000 bulbs. It’s charming, colorful, affordable, and especially popular with families looking for a cheerful holiday tradition close to home.

New Milford's PARADE OF LIGHTS is a MUST for both adults and the kids, which takes place on and around New Milford's Village Green on Saturday, December 13th at 6:30 pm with Christmas Carol singing, and then as hundreds waited on the green, "What to my wondering eyes should appear," but trucks of all shapes and sizes spreading holiday cheer! Check out my YouTube video from 2023.

Whether you're planning a cozy night with someone special or loading up the kids for a seasonal outing, these three drive-thru shows plus New Milford's PARADE OF LIGHTS represent the best holiday lights Connecticut has to offer. Each provides its own unique style—from big and bold to warm and nostalgic—giving you plenty of ways to enjoy the glow this season.
