Sonic Highways by Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters is one of the best tv shows that I've seen in a long time. Basically, the band travels to different cities : (NY, LA, Chicago, Austin, Seattle, Nashville, New Orleans, and Washington DC), then they give you a brief overview of the music scene in the city, and then they record a song based on their inspirations in those cities. It's excellent! I've never seen a band allow such access to their creative process before, and the nuggets of musical information they tell about each of their stops if very informative. The series wrapped up last week with a visit to NYC, so, if you can, catch this on demand. it's a great binge watch for a rainy or snowy weekend!
