If you have the money to spend, it might be a refreshing change to pile the family in the car and go out for brunch or dinner on Easter Sunday. Need some ideas? Read on ...

Highly recommended is the Sunday brunch at The Ethan Allen Hotel in Danbury. There are only two seatings for brunch....at 11am and 1pm and it's quite affordable for adults at $24.95 but a bit pricey for kids at $14.95.

Not only do they serve up breakfast delights but mouth watering heartier fare like beef, chicken, pork, and seafood are also part of the brunch buffet. I've chowed down at the Ethan Allen Hotel brunch and it's phenomenal!

If you're looking for a more casual Easter Day eatery, try out the Patch Reader's Choice winner for Mother's Day brunch, The Country Kitchen at 564 North Main St. in Brewster where they serve breakfast all day.

One of Connecticut Magazine's picks for overall excellence in their 2015 edition is Bernards at 20 West Lane in Ridgefield. This is fine dining at its best. From 11:30am until 12:30pm they serve an Easter brunch for $45 per person which includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert.

Another excellent choice is The Schoolhouse at Cannondale at 3 Canon Road in Wilton, an old fashioned school house transformed into a gorgeous restaurant. Their brunch goes from 10am till 2pm. I recommend the biscuit and poached eggs with sausage......Mmmmmm! The Schoolhouse also claims to serve the best hot chocolate ever!

Heading back over into New York State, McKinney & Doyle Fine Foods Cafe in Pawling is definitely worth the trip for Easter brunch. My recommendations.......the Asparagus Omelette and Shannon's Scrambled Eggs which is chocked full of smoked salmon, scallions, and cream cheese.
